New Trainees Ready for Chickens

On Friday, November 10, a group of 8 trainees completed the Main Street Project Agripreneur
Training Program. The trainees are all residents of Faribault, MN and will be continuing their
experiential field training in the spring as they work cooperatively to produce their first flocks of
free-range meat birds. While this training has focused on understanding the motivation and
protocols of raising chickens within a regenerative farming system and the fundamental
components of the small business management of a poultry operation, the field experience will
continue the learning related to paddock and flock management.


A pilot program launching this month will sell CSA Meat Shares to raise the operating funds for
two flocks totaling 2500 birds that they will raise in our training coops starting in April. For more
