Main Street Project

Our Partnerships

Ecological Design has helped us to design and establish our 100 acre R&D farm. Ecological Design is a permaculture design company based in Minnesota and Wisconsin. They work with homeowners, farmers, non-profit organizations, restaurants, and others to create abundant landscapes that integrate food, function and beauty.

Zumbro Valley Forestry has brought years of experience planting trees to our new farm. They assisted us in establishing our cover crops and helped us to plant thousands of hazelnuts. Zumbro Valley Forestry is committed to provide landowners with sound management advice for your woodland and prairies. Whether you are planting trees, have a tree health problem , have invasive species problems such as buckthorn, want to sell some trees, want to know what kinds of trees are in your woods and what their value may be, we are the people to call.

Regeneration-Farms-LOGO-DropShadoRegeneration Farms, LLC is the first independent farm operation dedicated to replicating the Main Street Project’s Poultry-Centered Regenerative Agriculture System. Our mission is to deploy a regional network of vertically integrated profitable egg and related (meat, grain, pork, hazelnuts) poultry-centered regenerative agriculture farms and value added operations to supply Regeneration Farms LLC’s brand (s) and its marketing and distribution systems.

thunder-valley-cdc-logo-1colThunder Valley CDC has adopted our system in their Food Sovereignty Initiative and have established a 1.5 acre demonstration site. Thunder Valley CDC was inspired and incubated by a group of youth and young families that were reconnecting to cultural spirituality and identity through spiritual ceremonies. This reconnection to spirituality was supported by the Thunder Valley spiritual circle. It was our involvement in those ceremonies that inspired us to do more for our communities and for our people. We are a grassroots community development corporation that is guided by the needs and ideas of our community. Our values are deeply rooted in Lakota values and the continued engagement of our community in this project.

Via Organica has established our system in Mexico and has given us the opportunity to see our system adopted in a different climate, with different species to support it. Via Organica is a Mexican nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote good nutrition through organic agriculture, fair trade, a healthy life and protecting the planet.

Dakota County supports our vision and is helping us to innovate ways to get farmers in our region to adopt our system through flexible easements and government programs. Through our creation of an innovative agricultural system and work to restore this land, the farm will regenerate qualities of the farmland that have eroded over time, most notably nutrient-rich soil and natural wetlands. Al Singer, land conservation manager for Dakota County, said, “Through its work, Main Street Project will transform the land—protecting productive farmland, natural areas and water quality. From restoring the natural hydrology of the land to protecting the creek from non-filtered runoff and expanding and improving wildlife habitats, Main Street Project’s farm will provide valuable insights into addressing many of the inherent conflicts occurring in rural landscapes.”

Organic Compound has activated a group of inspired people in our region and is actively sharing our message and helping us to organize volunteer days and events. Organic Compound is empowering leaders for a regenerative future. From their farm and media platform, they offer opportunities to practice permaculture principals, self-reliance, and balanced leadership. Providing the education, inspiration, resources, and community support needed to nourish, develop, and share practices for a thriving world.

Iroquois Valley Farms helped us to purchase our 100 acre R&D farm and is helping farmers to purchase land and adopt our system. Iroquois Valley Farms is a restorative farmland finance company providing land access to organic family farmers, with a focus on the next generation. Starting in 2007 (through Iroquois Valley LLC) and establishing itself as a leader in socially responsible investing before “SRI” and “Impact Investing” were common vernacular, the Company has a long track record of successfully acquiring organic and transitional farmland. In 2016, the Company expanded its scope to include first mortgage financing.

For generations, Blue Cross Blue Shield companies have provided security and compassion to the communities and members they serve.

They continue to support, invest in, and build programs and partnerships that have the greatest impact on the health and well-being of all Americans and their communities. Blue Cross Blue Shield continually supports our organization and contributes annually to our mission.

Growing Up Healthy helped us launch our community engagement program, Sharing Our Roots. Together we are tackling food insecurity in our region by improving access to healthy, nutritious food among low-income, multi-generational families. Growing Up Healthy works with partner organizations and immigrant and refugee families to transform communities through cultivating neighborhood leadership, fostering social connectedness, and collectively advocating for change within neighborhoods and systems.
